Its leaf kicking time!
Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 11:28AM Well, not quite - but my second favourite season is almost upon us. I love September, love it. When I lived in Paris I learnt to think of September the way the French do, as la rentrée (the re-entry or return). A time of new beginnings almost like New Year but without the incumbent pressure to y'know, create resolutions. I still approach September with the same glee I did as a child. New stationary - whee! Cool breezes - whoosh!
My internal climate control is much more atuned to autumn than summer. Jumpers, jeans and boots make me happy in a way that summer clothes never will. I am Irish by descent with all that entails, namely a bluey-grey pallour for much of the year which turns bright red at the first hint of sunshine. It has served me well in previous Dutch "summers" which were predominantly wet and grey but this year I find myself musing on autumn fashion with a new fervour.
Which meant that Heather from Life Abroad's post on autumn fashion was very well timed. This autumn I will be rocking...

I have already bought my autumn boots and started to re-build my sweater collection following a pre-move purge. Regretably the legs don't come with the jeans so there will be no respite from going to the gym this year.
