Decorating Inspiration: A Fairy Tale

So once upon a time Chez Larsson posted about her wardrobe and it had these amazing doors, which she had cleverly done herself.

Courtney liked the design so much she made a tutorial about it.

Apartment Therapy liked it so much they featured it.

Anneliese liked it so much she painted her whole hall that way

Which is where I found it and promptly fell in love with it. I see it working either in the downstairs bathroom (if I decide on partial tiling only) or as a feature wall in the living room in a medium grey. Planning, planning...

Perfect Peacocks

I love peacocks. The colours, the varieties, the plumage. Ok, maybe not the unbearable squawking but otherwise, I'm a fan.

I would love to incorporate peacocks into a room design in some small way, if not a display of feathers (I've heard it is bad luck) then maybe in some other way.

Some Etsy inspiration...

So Very Happy

I have been coveting the So Very Happy print from Studio Mela for some weeks. I can't decide whether I want it in the kitchen (by the coffee machine) or in the office (for constant reminders!).

And then there's the choice of colours... Version 1, 2 or 3.

Decisions, decisions.

Antler

Over at Decor8 Holly posted a real find for a grey Monday morning.

Antler Magazine's mission is to compose "a collection of beautiful, inspiring ideas and designs from all aspects of life" and with their debut edition they have certainly fulfilled that.

I was absolutely captured by the range of the magazine and especially by the article on Emily Ryan (whose Migration Shift dress may have stolen my heart a little bit).

Beautiful Things

When we move in I will fill our home with beautiful things.

The candlesticks would stand on the floor by the bath to be lit during long, luxurious bubble baths.

The wings would hang somewhere discreet, so that you just catch sight of them out of the corner of your eye.

These little birds would peek from the edge of a bookshelf.

The ridges on this jug make me want to run my fingers over them.
